Health refers to a state of complete emotional, mental, and physical well- being. A healthful lifestyle provides the means to lead a full life with meaning and purpose. Good physical health can work effectively with mental health to improve a person’s overall quality of life.
Causal and slight modification in your daily activity helps and brings a lot and enormous change in your health. Large number of efforts and working too hard is not necessary, following a particular life pattern right from the time you wake up and till the time you go to bed, it will be very helpful for the betterment of your health. Always remember good health and a healthy mind increase the life span.
What modification can be done in our daily activity?
1. Physical workout.
In spite of our busy schedules, it is our responsibility to prioritize our health and involve ourselves in some kind of physical activity. Physical exercises need not always be strenuous, it can be in the form of walking, cycling, yoga and meditation that brings calmness to both mind and body.Start your day at least a minimum of 15 minutes of walk. Normal and brisk walk, gradually increase the timing up to 30 minutes walk. Walking helps to increase cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones, reduce excess body fat and boost muscle power. Walking helps to have social contact with many people which helps you to have good mental health.
2. Internal exercise.
Internal exercise is as important as physical exercise to keep the internal organ healthy. After your physical workout, spend a few moments practicing deep breathing exercises which help relieve stress, relax your mind. Breathing helps you to inhale fresh oxygen and exhale toxins, carbon dioxide from your body. Breathing activity helps to have proper blood circulation. Very helpful in calming down anxiety and helps you to have better sleep..
3.Plan your diet.
Planning a diet is vital and must be taken into account in improving health. Watch what you eat and how you eat. Planning breakfast is very essential. It should be nutritious to keep you energetic throughout the day. Morning diet should include fruits, bowls of vegetables, boiled eggs, sprouts, and protein. Balanced diet is essential. Buttermilk and fruits can be taken as your mid day meal. More vegetables, less carbohydrates can be consumed as lunch. Finish your day with very light and easily digestible food as your supper. Finish your supper within 7p.m. meal planning is a tool to keep you healthy, energetic, meet your nutritious goal and maintain healthy weight. Avoid junk and unhealthy food, rich in sugar and cholesterol levels. The level of fitness totally depends on the amount of activity our body performs and the food we consume.
4. Proper hydration.
Each cell, tissue and organ needs water to function effectively. Adult body requires 60% of water, whereas a child requires 70% of water. Water plays a vital role in maintaining body temperature, removing waste and lubricating joints, and proper bowel movement to get rid of waste from the body. So we should drink 11 ounce (2.7 liters) of fluids for women and 16 ounce (3.7 liters) of fluids for men per day. Fluids can be consumed in other forms like fruits and vegetables juice, tender coconut water, milk, and a moderate amount of about 400 milligram of caffeinated drinks (coffee, tea, and milk). Lack of water can lead to dehydration. Dehydration can drain your energy and make you tired. Drink water in a regular interval between meals, before, during and after exercise and if you feel thirsty.
5. Timing your sleep.
To maintain proper function and health, our body requires proper sleep. Proper sleep strengthens the immune system and maintains a healthy diet. Sleep duration for an adult should be between 7 to 9 hours, older adults over 65 years of age 7 to 8 hours of sleep. For the rapid growth and development of youth, children vary by age. Babies need up to 17 hours, while for teens it is 8 to 10 hours. While dim lighting or darkness initiates changes and promotes sleep. Maintain a regular bed time which promotes healthy sleep. Good sleep wakes us feeling refreshed, a lot of energy during the day. Maintain the mood swing. Avoid using gadgets for two to three hours before going to bed.
6. Regular cleansing of the colon.
Cleaning the body and bowel plays a vital role in maintaining our health. Lots of health problems arise due improper cleansing of waste from our body. Releasing toxins from our body leads to refocusing energy and better blood circulation. Poor diet and ineffective vitamins absorption buildup mucus which leads and root cause for many diseases. Drink plenty of water to keep the toxins flushing from your body.
7. Positive attitude.
All the above activity can be carried out effectively only when our mental health is healthy. Maintaining and building up positive thoughts within you will have a huge impact on our healthy lifestyle. Lessen your stress, spend quality time with quality people. Positive thoughts can boost your energy, enhances your inner strength. Positive thinking helps with stress management, lower your depression, helps to increase the life span too, greater resistance to illness.
